Gates of Olympus free spins: how the bonus really works
In Gates of Olympus, four or more scatters anywhere on the grid give you 15 free spins. During the bonus, every orb that counts is added to a total multiplier that never resets. Three more scatters add 5 spins. The bonus lands about once every 448 spins.

The trigger
Zeus scatters pay on their own and do not need to be next to each other. Four on the grid start the bonus and pay 3x your stake. Five pay 5x. Six pay 100x. The scatter payout is added to whatever the bonus goes on to win.
Scatters can also arrive during a tumble. So a spin that starts with three scatters can still trigger if a fourth falls in after a win.
The running multiplier
This is what makes the bonus different from the base game. Follow one example round:
| Free spin | What lands | Total multiplier | Paid |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Win of 2x, orb 5x | 5x | 10x |
| 2 | No win, orb 10x (does not count) | 5x | 0 |
| 3 | Win of 1x, orb 8x | 13x | 13x |
| 4 | Win of 3x, no orb | 13x | 39x |
Spin 4 is the important one. No orb landed, but the win was still multiplied by 13x because the total carries over. Each orb makes every later win bigger. Early orbs are worth the most.
Spin 2 shows the frustration. An orb without a win is wasted in the classic versions. The 2500's mode 2 is the only version that changes this rule.
How often, and how much?
The bonus lands about once every 448 spins on the original and the 1000, about every 438 on Super Scatter and every 443 on the 2500. With the ante bet it comes roughly twice as often.
What it pays varies wildly. Many bonuses end under 20x your stake. A few go over 100x. A very few go over 1,000x. The average has to fund the RTP, so a typical bonus pays less than the 100x it would cost to buy. "Bonus hunting" videos rarely show that part.
Try it free. The fastest way to feel this is the demo. Spin until you reach two or three bonuses and note what each one pays. Start with the original demo.
"Gates of Olympus free spins no deposit" — what those offers really are
You will see casinos advertise free spins on Gates of Olympus without a deposit. These are casino promotions, not a game feature. They are usually a few spins at the minimum stake, and winnings come with conditions.
- Wagering. Winnings must be bet several times before you can withdraw. At the UK maximum of 10x, £5 of winnings means £50 of play first. Offshore sites often ask 30x to 50x.
- Win caps. A maximum cashout, often £50 to £100, whatever you win.
- Time limits. Spins may expire in 24 to 72 hours.
UK rules got stricter on 19 January 2026: wagering on UK casino bonuses is now capped at 10x, and bonuses mixing casino and betting are banned. Always read the terms before you claim anything. An offer that needs a deposit to "unlock" winnings is not really no deposit.
